Google is convinced about the long-term of VR. The company is heavily pushing it through affordable hardware initiatives like Google Cardboard and Daydream. And now, Mountain View is bringing it to the classroom with the aim of introducing the concept to one million British schoolchildren. “We’ve already received feedback from thousands of teachers in the UK and they believe that Expeditions can improve literacy and writing skills, and help create excitement to complement traditional teaching methods.” Google Expeditions are available to any UK school, free of charge. The team behind it intends to visit schools in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast, Newcastle, and Inverness in the coming months, where they will demonstrate the technology and distribute headsets to children who may never have ever had the opportunity to experience VR. Speaking to Engadget UK, Pichai said “Virtual reality can spark students’ imagination and help them learn about topics like how blood flows through the human body or the impact climate change is having on the Great Barrier Reef, in an engaging and immersive way.” 02-675-9371 092-262-6390
We’ve all been there. You’ve set up the perfect shot. Everyone is in position, the lighting is great, and the big moment has arrived. You’re just about to take the picture, when out of nowhere a box pops up, ruining the whole thing – “Storage Full.” This aggravating experience is the focus of a great new ad from Google Photos. The ad shows people setting up pictures – from selfies, to graduation pictures, to birthdays and beyond, only to be interrupted by that despised warning. The ad is (perfectly) set to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now.” The ad is showcasing the “free up space” feature on Google Photos. If your photos are backed up on the cloud, the app will delete photos from your phone, allowing users to return to their photoshoot with plenty of memory. Google Photos provides users with unlimited cloud storage for free so long as the photos are no larger than 16-megapixels and videos are no greater than 1080p full HD resolution The ad seems to be targeted at iPhone users – especially those with the 16GB storage plan. The “full storage” notifications and the sound affects in the ad are quite similar to the iOS style. The
Google today announced the launch of App Maker, the newest entry in the low-code, drag-and-drop app building market. Like its competitors from Microsoft and numerous startups, App Maker promises to make it easy for anybody to quickly develop basic apps that serve a very specific purpose inside an organization. The new service features a cloud-based drag-and-drop development environment that lets you build the user interface and populate it with data from your G Suite applications, Google Maps, Contacts and Groups and virtually any service that offers an API. These applications then run on the same infrastructure on which Google’s own G Suite apps run, and IT admins can also manage them in exactly the same way as Gmail, Drive and other G Suite applications. App Maker is now available through Google’s Early Adopter Program for G Suite Business. GoogleApps.in.th
